Welcome to the Bay Crossing Community 

Welcome to Bay Crossing, an active 55+ community of 256 single family and villa-style homes in Lewes, a vibrant coastal Delaware town.  Ideally located east of Route 1, Bay Crossing has easy access to downtown Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach. 

We are minutes away from Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and, to the south, Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay, with plenty of ways to enjoy the water for swimming, boating and fishing.  Award winning restaurants dot the area, now dubbed Southern Delaware’s Culinary Coast™.  Beauty abounds at nearby state parks including Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Fenwick Island as well as Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.  Nationally recognized health care is available in downtown Lewes and the surrounding area.

Delaware rewards visitors with tax-free shopping and dining, and three outlet malls are just a few miles south of us.  The Cape May-Lewes Ferry, in operation since 1964, is only four miles from Bay Crossing and takes passengers and vehicles on a scenic, leisurely ride to southern New Jersey.  Enjoy a day or more in picturesque Cape May, known for its turn of the century bed and breakfasts, restaurants and world-renowned birding.

The social hub of Bay Crossing is the 5,735 square foot clubhouse, affording many ways to stay in shape in the well-appointed fitness room and through a variety of exercise classes.  Neighbors gather regularly in the library, card room, craft room and game room testing their skills for bridge, Mah-jongg and poker, in addition to play on our beautiful billiard table and shuffleboard table.

On the community’s grounds, enjoy relaxing strolls on a paved walking path that circles a pond, or test your skills on any of our three courts: bocce, pickleball and tennis.  Then take a refreshing dip in our wonderful outdoor pool either by yourself, doing laps, or with friends and family on a hot summer weekend.  Enjoy ample shade under two pergolas and plentiful umbrellas.  Or sit by any one of our four beautiful ponds and enjoy the fountains and wildlife.

Bay Crossing keeps your calendar free to enjoy our lifestyle by providing many benefits, including lawn care and irrigation, trash/recycle pickup, snow removal and pond maintenance.  Our cadre of dedicated volunteers strive to keep our community looking great and fiscally sound.  The active Lifestyle committee puts together great events all year long.  A wide variety of clubs (including bowling, golf, dinner and travel clubs) give us the chance to explore, mingle and exercise.
